Hello!
My name is Emma and I am an exchange student from Bournemouth University, currently studying at the University of Central Florida for this semester. Having grown up in Surrey, England, I have been lucky enough to spend many a weekend in London, taking in the culture and attractions (especially the theatres) that the capital has to offer, as well as countries far beyond England’s borders. I have travelled far and wide on family holidays, going on safari in Africa, sunbathing in Europe and spending my days in Disney parks.
As a child and young teen, I always thought that I would pursue a career in journalism. Although still an option, I have begun considering a career with Disney. I am incredibly interested in Disney and how, as a company, they produce awe-inspiring products and are able to create such hype over them.
I think that in general, I am interested in the power of the media and the way that it can influence and often manipulate audiences across a variety of media platforms and this is something that I would like to look at in the context of Disney within this blog.
